Never been done before but our Falcons did the trick!

Facey stepped up and hosted the Tier I Provincials with an outstanding banquet in the Facey gym and a wonderful tournament held at Millennium Place.

*Thanks goes out to all of the volunteers!

Senior Girls

The Senior Girls put together a 9-2-1 season for top spot in Division I giving them a bye to the semifinal.  They found themselves down most of the game to Old Scona but led by MacKenzie Farmer they clawed their way back to a 24-21 win!  In the Metro final they dominated Harry Ainlay throughout the game easily winning the Banner 21-12!

At the Tier I Provincials our Falcons were all business and cruised to an opening 25-12 win over Red Deer's Notre Dame.  Then came a 29-17 crushing of St. Peter the Apostle.  In the semifinal Harry Harry took a 24-17 beating putting our Falcons into the final.  The GOLD MEDAL'S would hang on the Facey girls' necks because of a dominating 24-15 win over Red Deer's Lindsay Thurber!  Brittney Launhardt scored at will and goalie Isabelle Rees was her usual solid between the pipes!

Senior Boys

The guys went 6-1-1 in Division I league play which left them in 2nd place.  In the quarterfinal they defeated Old Scona 21-15, but in the semifinal they lost 19-15 to Harry Ainlay, which meant no repeat as the Metro Champs but they still qualified for the Tier I Provincials.

Facey opened up the Tier I Provincials with a dominating 30-19 win over Wetaskiwin.  Then the roof fell in as they were hammered and embarrassed by Eastglen 45-17.  Somehow to the Falcons credit they regrouped enough to get past Harry Ainlay 26-18 in the semifinal setting up a rematch with Eastglen. In one of the biggest reversal of scores in the history of sports, our Falcons mucked with the Blue Devils keeping it close with tenacious defense and outstanding goal keeping as well as timely and smart offense.  Millennium Place has never experienced such a game as Facey won GOLD with a huge 27-26 upset!  Gutsy win Falcons!
